A new guide for coach operators has been produced by Cyngor Gwynedd. It provides essential information on two designated passenger drop-off and pick-up points, approved parking and safe access to the town of Caernarfon.

A detailed map is available on the Eryri Snowdonia website. Printed copies of the leaflet, funded by HWB Caernarfon, are available from the Tourist Information Centre.

Drivers will need to allow enough time to access and manoeuvre safely through the historic town centre, where streets can be narrow, and pedestrian activity is often high. Particular care is needed near Caernarfon Castle during busy visitor periods and on event days.

To minimise congestion and protect all road users, drivers should follow signed coach routes and use only the designated coach facilities.

We have a range of itineraries and fact sheets where Caernarfon is featured including Three days in North Wales, Wales in a week, Castles and stately homes in a week, and Shopping highlights.

Further information about Caernarfon’s places to eat and drink, accommodation, attractions and events, can be found at Visit Snowdonia, or contact Cyngor Gwynedd on +44 (0)1766 771000.

For visits to Caernarfon Castle, register with the Cadw Tour Operator Scheme (CTOS) and become a member of Cadw’s online group booking scheme for discounted rates, and complimentary benefits. Further information can be found on the webpage or by contacting Cadwcommercial@gov.wales.
