Aber Falls Distillery, Llanfairfechan, near Conwy
The distillery is the first of its kind in North Wales for more than 100 years. Heralding the area and its natural beauty, the brand offers a range of award-winning, premium gins and liqueurs, made using Welsh inspired ingredients and botanicals, including; Welsh Dry, Orange Marmalade and Rhubarb & Ginger gins, and Salted Toffee, Violet and Coffee and Dark Chocolate Liqueurs. Their single malt whisky created with specially crafted local ingredients was first available in 2021. Distillery tours are offered and include master classes, lab experiences, and an opportunity to sample and purchase from the range of premium quality spirits. There is a bistro with a locally sourced menu and gift shop on-site. Coach parking is available.
Bragdy Conwy Brewery, Llysfaen, near Conwy
The first brewery in Conwy for over 100 years. Specialising in cask and bottle conditioned ales of the highest quality using soft water from the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) and no artificial ingredients. Tours of the brewery which include sampling must be pre-booked and last approximately 1hr 30min. They also provide a design your own beer day for up to eight guests (postage will be chargeable to ship the six cases of designer beer) and brewer for a day for up to four guests. There is adequate parking for one coach.
Bragdy Cybi, Holyhead, Anglesey
The brewery is based in a retail park just off the coastal road, a five minute drive from Holyhead town and one mile (1.6km) from the train station and ferry port. Private beer tasting sessions can be offered in the taproom at the brewery for groups of six or more by prior engagement. Allow two hours for a session. Clients will learn about the beers and may even get to try the newest recipes. Parking is available for small coaches and minibuses.
Cwrw Cader Ales, Dolgellau
First established in 2012, the brewery has grown, although it is still considered a micro-brewery. The water is sourced from the Dolgellau hills and mountains. Tours of five or more guests must pre-book. The tour which includes tasting lasts approximately 1hr. There is coach parking available in the nearby Marian Mawr car park.
Gwinllan Conwy Vineyard, Conwy
The family vineyard enjoys views of the Eryri National Park (Snowdonia National Park). The soil and North Wales climate helps the hybrid grape work. Tours for up to 20 visitors take place on set days and last up to 2hr. Parking is more suitable for a small coach or minibus.
Llanfairpwll Distillery, Anglesey
Clients can discover how gin and rum are made with a guided tour for groups up to 10. The 1hr behind the scenes tour includes tasting and an opportunity to ask questions. A discount is offered for products from the shop. There is parking suitable for a minibus outside the premises.
Pant Du Vineyard, Caernarfon
Not only a vineyard but an orchard located at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) on the glacial slopes of the beautiful Nantlle Valley. The family-run business sell wine, cider, apple juice and spring water with a café on-site. Guided tours, private parties and wine tastings are available. There is adequate parking for small coaches.
Penderyn Llandudno Lloyd St Distillery, Llandudno
Water from a reservoir on the Great Orme, the prominent headland overlooking the town, is used to produce their peat based whisky here. The 1hr tour will allow your clients to learn about the history of Penderyn, the building and how the whisky is made, followed by a tasting. Products can be purchased in the gift shop. Masterclasses are also available in this site. Limited coach parking is available on request but alternative parking is available at Builder Street. Group rates available.
Purple Moose Brewery, Porthmadog
Y Bragdy Mws Piws / The Purple Moose Brewery is a 40 barrel micro-brewery based in the historic harbour town of Porthmadog close to the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia). There are set down points in the town centre with coach parking available near the leisure centre.
Red Wharf Bay Vineyard, Anglesey
Situated in Anglesey, one of the National Landscapes (formerly AONB), but with strong links to the sun-baked countryside of Andalucia, Spain, this vineyard offers a unique perspective on wine production. They offer 2hr tours (by arrangement) and are conducted personally by the owner, who happily discusses the many pitfalls suffered prior to the success of the vineyard. Your clients will taste three wines, including the wine with the longest name in the world, enjoy ‘Anglesey Tapas’ and view strikingly coloured imported Spanish ceramics in this delightful setting. Tours from the cruise ships at Holyhead can be arranged for a maximum of 19. Minimum for a group tour is four. It's location means it is only suitable for minibuses.
Tŷ Croes Vineyard, Anglesey
First established in 2003, the two and a half acre plantation of grapes produces both white and red wine. The vineyard can be toured at a small fee, including tasting the wine which can be purchased at the shop. A small herd of Highland cattle can also be seen when visiting. Parking is suitable for small minibuses.
Mid Wales
Dà Mhìle Distillery, Llandysul
Set in a beautiful 17th century gallery, talks and gin tastings are available to book Monday to Friday. The session lasts around 30-45min depending on group size and questions asked. Groups will hear about the history of the farm and business, and have the opportunity to taste the four organic gins. The Farm Shop is open Monday-Friday 10am to 4pm where clients can sample and purchase other spirits and Caws Teifi cheese. Booking in advance is essential. There is suitable parking and access for a minibus or small seater coach (up to around 30 seats).
Dyfi Distillery, Machynlleth
Although tours are not offered, it is worth a visit to as they welcome "curious and enthusiastic gin hunters". Awarded best Gin in the UK for its Pollination Gin in 2017, the distillery is located at Corris Craft Centre, between Machynlleth and Dollgellau. Established in 2016, they also won seven medals at the International Wine and Spirit competition. There are parking facilities for coaches.
In the Welsh Wind Distillery, near Cardigan
The distillery offers gin tasting experiences for up 30 guests which runs for up to 90 minutes. They also offer a 2hr bespoke gin making experience for up to eight couples. Booking is essential. There is parking which could accommodate a coach or minibus.
Monty's Brewery, Montgomery
The award winning brewery offers talks and tastings for groups of eight or more at their main production site. Booking is essential. Access and parking is suitable for minibuses only.
Welsh Mountain Cider, Llanidloes
Located in the Cambrian Mountains, Welsh Mountain Cider offer scheduled tours and tastings on specific dates, and private tours can be arranged for up to 20 guests on request. Tours last approximately 1hr 30min and can be tailored to your clients needs. Open from April - October.
