Experience Wales’ top sports stadiums and venues

Not only do Anglesey Circuit provide motorsport for spectators, but they also offer driving experiences and courses.
 

The racecourse set in the countryside in north Wales alongside the River Dee hosts 14 horse races in a calendar year. Hospitality for large groups can be provided at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse. One free ticket will be issued for every ten tickets purchased for racedays.

Take a tour of the Cardiff City Football Club with an experienced guide. Visitors see the changing rooms before going pitch side to view the dugout and views of the ground. Tours do not place on the eve or day of a match. Group tours are for a maximum of 25 guests. However, larger groups can be accommodated on request. Booking is essential. Smaller groups can book via the website. Larger groups should contact the club direct. There are parking facilities available for coaches.

Wales is home to many golf courses but the Celtic Manor Resort has played host to international competitions including the Ryder Cup in 2010. The resort has a choice of three championship courses to play on offers a range of golf breaks with discounts for 12+ players. There are also accommodation packages on offer.

Since opening in the 1920’s, Chepstow Racecourse has developed from a park to hosts of the Welsh Grand National. Events take place throughout the year. Group discounts and free coach parking are available.

Opened in 2009, visitors are sure to see some of the best horse racing in west Wales at Ffos Las Racecourse as it is home to the Welsh Champion Hurdle. Ffos Las also hosted fantastic music events such as Madness, Blue and Jason Donovan. The venue offers hospitality and raceday packages and can provide accommodation for large groups. Group packages for 40+ guests are also available.

Home to Glamorgan County Cricket Club, a range of museum visit and stadium tours are available which can include a private three course dinner, a buffet lunch, an afternoon tea and a cricket lesson. Group size is from 15 to 150 attendees. Larger groups will be split into smaller groups for the Tour and Play. Booking is essential with at least 72 Hours prior notice and must be pre paid. Parking is available for one coach. This and all aspects of the tour are subject to availability. Newport International Sports Village is home to Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales which has provided training facilities in preparation for cyclists to compete in the Olympic and Paralympic British team. The village is also the place to go if visitors wanted to watch Speedway in action. Newport Stadium holds international track and field events and is also home to Newport City Football Club. The only indoor tennis centre can be found at the Regional Pool and Tennis Centre, along with an eight lane swimming pool.

When the Principality Stadium isn’t hosting major sports matches or concerts group tours can be booked for the 74,000 seater stadium. Guests will visit the home dressing room, walk down the player’s tunnel, see the views of the pitch from the President’s Box and see where all the press conferences take place. There is no limit to the size of the group that the stadium can host.  If large, the group will be broken into more manageable groups (approximately 30 per group), departing every 10 minutes. Discounted rates are offered for groups of 20+. Also one free place per ten bookings is also offered.

Swansea.com Stadium (formerly Liberty Stadium) is the home to Swansea City football club. Tours will take visitors to the players dressing room, pitch side, the press conference area and the hospitality suites (when not in use). The tour is around an hour. A discount is offered for groups of 20+ with a 10% voucher to spend in the club shop. Booking is essential.

Group tours and coaching sessions can be arranged at the home of the Ospreys rugby team. Clients can choose a range of packages at St Helen's Sports Ground (Swansea Rugby Football Club, including stadium tours, matchday tickets and training sessions with the Ospreys in the Community coaches.

Vale Resort offers a range of four star accommodation and golf breaks. There is a choice of two championship golf courses which has hosted PGA and European golf championships. With their world-class training facilities, you may also be lucky enough to catch our National Rugby and Football teams training on the pitches.

Viola Arena is home to the Cardiff Devils ice hockey team. Championship matches are played most weekends during the season from September to April and tickets are available through the website. Ice skating is also available at the arena with group discounts for 20+. Group bookings should be made a week prior to the visit.

Wales Rally GB is the biggest rally motor sport event which takes place in Wales and 2020 hosts its 13th World Rally Championship. The event is a four days competition of Special Stages where not only do drivers aim to complete the course in the fastest time but complete a pre-set course on public roads.
