STADIUM TOURS
The Sophia Gardens Stadium Tour will give you a chance to see the magnificent facilities at the home of Glamorgan Cricket, as well as having a look behind the scenes and learning about the ground's history. A longer Curators Tour is also available - see below for more information.
The standard Stadium tour lasts for approx. 90 minutes and will start with a welcome from your guide in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket, situated on the first floor of the National Cricket Centre where there is a range of fascinating cricket memorabilia, together with other information about the rich history of the game in Wales and interactive displays.
After a brief presentation about the history of the ground, you will then head across to the Discover Leeks Pavilion to view the dressing rooms and other areas used on match days by the Glamorgan team, visiting players and the match officials.
After seeing the hospitality areas, your guide will then show you the state-of-the-art Media Centre, where you can see the television and radio commentary boxes, plus the press room where over a hundred journalists sat to watch the Ashes Test Matches in 2009 and 2015, besides seeing the commentary boxes where TV and radio commentators sat and described the action.
Your guide will then take you back to the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket where you can look again at the displays, or browse along the Glamorgan Cricket Heritage Gallery.
