The sleek, light and spacious Eco Barn is Preseli Venture’s latest addition to their sustainable accommodation complex: a Dutch barn conversion which sleeps up to 8 people across 4 bedrooms. It’s a perfect rural retreat for families and small groups, with lots of room to spread out. Offering soul-stirring floor-to-ceiling views, the Eco Barn’s lofty upper level leads onto a balcony overlooking the surrounding woodland and the wild North Pembrokeshire coastline beyond. There are two long dining tables, each seating 8 people, and a thoughtfully equipped kitchen with a double oven, making family feasts a breeze.

There is ample parking for several cars on the private driveway at the front of the house. A rear garden with two grassy levels offers a perfectly sheltered sun-trap, equipped with a free standing barbecue and lounger chairs.

The Eco Barn lives up to its name, being optimally insulated & powered largely by solar panels and an air source heat pump. The owners, Sophie & Nick, have also set to work rewilding the land adjacent to the Eco Barn. In 2020, they planted 2000 native trees, and have continued to plant 150 more every year since, creating a beautiful young woodland, teeming with wildlife.

THE COURTYARD COTTAGES

Currently being refurbished, two of the iconic marsh mallow–pink Courtyard Cottages next door are due to be launched in 2025. There will be a one-bedroom cottage bookable by Easter, followed by a four-bedroom cottage in August. Early 2026 will see the launch of a further one-bed cottage.

GROUPS
Booking several rentals across Preseli Venture’s accommodation complex (including the Eco Barn and Courtyard Cottages) is the perfect solution for larger groups, especially those which include several couples & families who want their own space, whilst sharing outside communal spaces with the rest of the group.

LOCATION

Preseli Venture lies deep in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the UK’s only coastal national park and the jewel in the crown of the Welsh coast, blessed with vast stretches of untouched coastal wilderness, incredible offshore islands and cinematic scenery, home to an astounding variety of wildlife.

The accommodation is situated just outside the village of Mathry, 5 miles from Fishguard (where guests can arrive by train) and 9 miles from the smallest cathedral city in the UK, St David’s, a famous pilgrimage destination for those seeking to explore Welsh history, spirituality and legend.

Preseli Venture is conveniently located on the final stretch of Wales’ well-traversed ‘Coastal Way’, an epic 180-mile journey which stretches from the Western tip of the mountainous LLyn Peninsula to the breathtaking St David’s peninsula.

The Eco Barn lies in an official ‘Dark Skies’ area of Wales, meaning it's an incredible spot for stargazing without the glare of light pollution. All the more reason to enjoy a local brew around the bonfire and take part in some celestial observation.
