Featured repeatedly on television and in magazines, Cwm-Weeg with 3 acre formal garden set within 24 acres of wildflower meadows and bluebell woodland with stream is open to visitors from May to September.
Centred around a 15th Century farmhouse, the garden contains a wealth of sculptural and architectural elements, including fountains and statuary, grottos, moss garden with artificial rock face, stumpery, tree sculptures and a tower as a new project. All these features, together with lawns and extensive herbaceous borders translate older garden vocabulary into an innovative 21st Century concept.
Tea & homemade cakes are served under a large garden pavilion and outside the formal garden, a network of paths meander through meadows and woods, giving access to very rich and diverse fauna and flora, including many indicators of ancient woodland.
We are happy to accept group visits by prior booking from May to September. We have access and plenty of parking for buses up to 52 seater (12 to 13 meters long)
As additional extras for group visits we can offer:
Free admission / refreshments for driver and tour guide
Welcome talk
Guided garden tour with "behind the scenes" by owner or head gardener
Tour of the house – a late medieval Hall House built around 1460 to 1480, full of colour and imagination, art and artefacts…
For an additional fee, a selection of garden relevant talks / lectures as power point presentations can be incorporated into the visit with the following topics:
Gardening in the Dolfor Hills - the History of the Garden at Cwm Weeg
How to create and maintain a Wildflower Meadow
The History of the Garden Grotto from antiquity to present day
The Art of Compost
