About Elan Valley / Welsh Water Visitor Attractions

The Elan Valley Visitor Centre is the perfect starting place before exploring the 72 mile estate. The friendly and welcoming staff on reception are extremely knowledgeable and can advise visitors on the various walking trails in the Elan Valley, bike hire and information on the dams.

We warmly welcome coach parties year-round, offering a range of experiences to suit all visitors. Whether stopping by for a short break or planning a longer stay with a Ranger tour, booking in advance ensures a seamless visit. A visit to the café and visitor centre can be added to the day either before or after the tour.

To enhance visitor experience, we offer a Ranger-guided tour, delving into the valley's history and natural wonders. Walk inside the iconic Pen Y Garreg Dam and gain insight into the remarkable engineering achievements of the past.

Experience the awe-inspiring Pen-y-Garreg Dam with an exclusive gallery tour led by our knowledgeable Rangers. Venture inside the dam and up to the central tower, witnessing first-hand the incredible engineering marvels of the past.

Indulge in delicious meals and treats at our café, boasting panoramic views of the River Elan and Caban Coch Dam. From hearty breakfasts to tempting cakes and slices, there's something to satisfy every palate.

Explore the informative 'This Is Elan' exhibition and peruse our well-stocked gift shop, offering a diverse range of locally sourced crafts, books, maps, and souvenirs. Visitors can discover unique treasures to commemorate their visit to Elan Valley.

We are pleased to offer the coach driver and tour guide a free meal and hot drink when they visit us on a tour.

Prices for Ranger tours are per coach, not per person. There is no minimum or maximum number per coach.
