Zip World Llechwedd has unveiled a new and enhanced changes to the Deep Mine Tour. The rich history of the mine is presented in an innovative and immersive way, bringing Llechwedd’s past to life through an interactive journey.
Your clients will descend into the depths of the mine on Europe’s steepest cable railway and explore the mining heritage of the local area. A knowledgeable local guide will lead them 152 metres (500 ft) below ground in one of the world’s most renowned slate mines. They will embark on a completely reimagined Deep Mine Tour, allowing them to absorb the history through 10 impressive slate chambers. It offers a unique opportunity to appreciate the legacy of a Welsh slate mine.
Every aspect of the tour has been designed to fully immerse visitors in the essence of the site and the miners’ stories. There are new interactive elements that will enable your clients to understand and feel what life was like for miners in the past. This includes pushing a miner’s wagon along the tracks and using authentic Victorian mining tools. The state-of-the-art AV and projection will visualise the story, including meeting a miner from the past. The tour concludes with a light show over the underground lake, accompanied by the sounds of real miners singing.

Due to the environment, participants must have good walking ability and should wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
