Boutique country house hotel, Grove of Narberth in Pembrokeshire, and Penmaenuchaf Hotel in Dolgellau, part of the Seren Collection, are delighted to have been awarded One Michelin Key each in the Michelin Key Awards.

Launching for the first time this year, this new award recognises the most outstanding hotels in the UK and Ireland. The Michelin Key is the hotel equivalent of the Michelin Star, and while the star recognises the most outstanding restaurants in the world, the Michelin Key does the same for hotels.

A substantial evaluation process is carried out by the Michelin Guide’s hotel experts to identify the hotels that significantly add to travellers’ experience. Hotels are judged across five key categories including architecture and interior design; quality and consistency of service; overall personality and character; value for the price; and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting.

Only 123 hotels were awarded with Michelin Keys, to which just three hotels were located in Wales.
