Plas Pantyderi Manor, Boncath
A grand Grade II listed Georgian mansion near Boncath, close to the borders of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, Plas Pantyderi Manor sleeps 21 across 10 bedrooms for group self-catering holidays. Three generations of the same family ownership have led to its latest iteration under the watchful eye of sisters Anna Raymond, Lisa Jones and Efa Jones. Georgian features have been rediscovered, restored period furniture selected, centuries-old sash windows brought back to life and patinated beams and an ancient bread oven uncovered. The modern Welsh artwork adds to the sense of place.
On the ground floor, there’s a generous living space with banquette seating, a piano and a convivial bar, opening out onto the deck with views across the ha-ha to the trout lake. There are two kitchens to cater for the dining room that seats over 20. One a light and airy contemporary sociable space complete with wine fridge, and the other a working kitchen ideal for use by a private chef. The full-size snooker table in the original billiard room adds that extra sprinkle of luxury.
The 10 high ceilinged bedrooms are set across two floors, with five en-suites and two bathrooms. All have been stylishly refurbished in soothing natural shades with polished parquet flooring, metro tiles and antique furnishings.

The Eco Barn, near St Davids

Sleeping eight in four bedrooms with two bathrooms, this generously airy, recently restored Dutch barn is a treat for eco-conscious explorers seeking a seaside getaway where genuine sustainability is woven throughout. The timber beams, exposed copper pipework, a feature metal spiral staircase and heavy oak joinery reflect traditional Welsh industrial architecture.
With a spacious convivial kitchen, toasty wood burner and an upstairs dining area that embraces the ever-changing coastal vistas with its sunny balcony and floor to ceiling glass, this is a house made for great company, laughter and fresh air adventures.
Outside there is a large, fenced garden with space to run and jump, and if you need more accommodation check out the neighbouring Courtyard Cottages, pitch a tent in the glamping fields or book the geodome.
