Global travel writer Condé Nast Traveller has named Conwy Castle as one of Europe's most beautiful castles in their latest rankings.

The impressive castle and town walls were built during the late 13th century in just four years. Your clients will want to ascend the spiral staircases of the many towers for the spectacular views of Conwy and the mountains of Eryi (Snowdonia) National Park. They will also have the opportunity to see the chapel and well preserved medieval royal apartments, and walk a full circuit around the battlements during their visit. Group bookings are available.

Conwy Castle is featured in a number of our itineraries including:

The Welsh town of Conwy is defined by its 21-tower medieval fortress, which features a gorgeous castle surrounded by fortified walls stretching 0.75 miles (1.2 km). The structure was commissioned by King Edward I back in the 13th century, which makes its well-preserved state all the more impressive. Visitors are welcome to visit the castle and walk a complete circle around the battlements, including venturing up the towers via spiral staircases."

Cardigan has also received recognition from another global publication. Time Out magazine has named Cardigan as one of their top three places to visit in the UK in 2023.

Cardigan Castle is a must visit. Clients can see the splendour of the Georgian mansion and learn about its history, walk around the beautiful gardens and explore the castle remains and medieval walls.

The town has an indoor market, many independent shops and eateries and Mwldan is the place for live shows and cinematic experiences. See our Heritage and Culture along The Coastal Way itinerary and our Shopping highlights and Travel around Mid Wales on public transport fact sheets for more ideas.

This is an old-fashioned Welsh market town with a dazzling creative streak, a beautiful place with fascinating history and countless ways to tell it."
