About Corris Mine Explorers

Located in the foothills of Southern Snowdonia in Mid Wales, our underground trips invite you to follow in the footsteps of Victorian slate miners with one of our expert guides. You'll experience the broad tunnels and cavernous chambers where the worlds's finest slate was excavated by both hand and explosive before being shipped around the world.

From the moment you step through a hidden door in the mountainside, you'll be immersed into a way of life and work which changed little throughout the mine's history.

Having barely been touched since the mine was abandoned in the 1970s, the countless awards and outstanding reviews explain how unmissable this authentic and fascinating experience is.
