In the 1930s, when the house was owned by publisher Geoffrey Faber, T.S. Eliot — one of the most influential poets of the 20th century stayed at Ty Glyn every summer from 1933 to 1941.Ty Glyn is even mentioned in a 1931 letter from Eliot to his godson — the first to mention Jellicle Cats and Pollicle Dogs, which later inspired Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats and, eventually, the award-winning West End and Broadway musical CATS.
