Wherever you are in the world this St David's Day, you can join in the celebrations of our national day. A hywl-filled social media celebration of our nation, that showcases the good things we do - for each other, for our communities, for our world

On 1 March, we remember the words of our patron saint...

It is with these guiding words we will celebrate all things Welsh.

We invite you and your clients to share ‘random acts of Welshness’ on social media. What makes an act of Welshness? It's a little thing that's easy to do, celebrating our people or traditions. And above all else, it makes someone's day, or the world, just that little bit better.

It's easy to get involved, here are a few ideas to get started;

  • bake our Welsh cakes, they are a delicious treat, take a look at this traditional recipe;

  • daffodils are the national flower of Wales, we love giving them to people on our national day;
  • give a cwtch – a cwtch in Wales is like a hug, but so much better;
  • wear a leek – the national vegetable of Wales is a leek, often people in Wales will wear one on their jumper or hat on our national day;
  • fly the red dragon / Draig Goch – you may recognise our flag already, we are proud of it. If you have something with the Welsh dragon on we’d love to see it. You can also bring the Draig Goch to life in AR.  Visit draiggoch.cymru (mobile only).  This virtual reality dragon can be summoned wherever you are in the world. Available in CYM, ENG, JA, DE, FR, ESP. Record a video of your dragon and upload it here: Submit Files - Dropbox;
