Welsh Mining Experience
The Chocolate House is now housed at the Welsh Mining Experience (Rhondda Heritage Park) offering a café, chocolate shop and bespoke workshops and luxury experiences. The Chocolate House was launched over 10 years ago and is proud to use local Welsh ingredients wherever possible and supplies four and five star hotels, farmer's markets and food establishments. Their Madeira Whisky and Orange Truffles, made using Penderyn whisky, won a Great Taste Award last year.
Craft of Hearts which was recently named the Best Independent Craft Shop in Wales, stocking a huge range of items, has also recently moved to the Welsh Mining Experience. They offer a range of craft sessions including art techniques, crafting for wellness, needlefelting, creative papercrafts, knitting etc. Bespoke sessions can also be provided.
Llanerch Vineyard, just 20 minutes from Cardiff is building on their success and will soon be opening a new 26 bedroom hotel. It will be in addition to the current accommodation offer available on the site that overlooks the vineyard and Glamorgan countryside. This will compliment the guided tours and wine tasting, the Cariad bistro and restaurant and conference facilities on the site together with Angela Gray’s Cookery School.
