Play On – Wales ready to welcome Rugby World Cup
Wales is ready to extend a warm welcome to Rugby World Cup teams and international fans as excitement for the tournament builds ahead of Friday’s opening match.
The Millennium Stadium will host eight matches during the Rugby World Cup, and the Welsh Government will be using the opportunity to promote Wales’ business and tourism offer to visiting rugby fans.
Visit Wales branding will be in place around Cardiff city centre, Newport and Swansea, giving a twist to traditional rugby terms and encouraging fans to explore the rest of Wales during their visit, with the message to “Play On” after the final whistle blows.
Visit Wales will also have a presence at the 10,000 capacity Fanzone at Cardiff Arms Park, where domestic and international fans will get a chance to find out more about Wales.
All promotion is closely linked to the Year of Adventure 2016, with images raising awareness of Wales’ best adventure products.
