Visit Wales reveals Gold Award list for Accommodation

Gold Awards

Visit Wales have announced the accommodation businesses which have been successful in being included on the Visit Wales Gold Award List of accommodation for 2010/2011.

The main aim of the Gold Award is to reward outstanding quality, exceptional comfort and hospitality in the serviced sector in Wales. The award also recognises businesses that have been successful in a Mystery Shopper exercise to test their customer interaction skills and those that have been able to demonstrate a high commitment and on-going development to improve their business for guests with disabilities.

The Heritage Minister congratulated the tourism businesses which have been listed, he said: “The gold award businesses exceed customer expectation and are first class products in all respects. These businesses are making an exceptional contribution to the quality of the Welsh tourism product and they are to be commended for their efforts. The Gold Award along with the National Tourism Awards for Wales which were held recently, signify that Wales is serious about raising the quality of its tourism product.”

This year, 16 hotels have made it to the listing along with 48 in the guest accommodation category.
