Preparations are underway to throw open the doors to Tredegar House and ring in a brand new season.
The house has been closed and cared for through the winter months but the team are now preparing to open the house for a new season on Valentine’s Day.
‘Below stairs’ rooms will be open, with tours to the ground floor, until 1 March. Visitors can come and hear stories of the notoriously flamboyant Morgan family whilst exploring the house and enjoying family activities.
Not only does the start of a new season mark the opening of the house but it also highlights a commitment by the team to have something to do every day of the year, from cooking in the Great Kitchen to new talks and tours.
“There’s been a lot to keep us busy over the winter months, making sure that everything is ready for the new season ahead and we’re really pleased to be reopening fully this Valentine’s day. It’s going to be lovely to have the whole house back open and full of life again and we’re so excited to launch all our new activities, tours and talks. I can’t wait for the cooking to start in the Great Kitchen – it was such a bustling, hot and noisy part of the house and it will be wonderful to get hands on in that area again”. – Harriet O’Brien, Events and Marketing Assistant
Visitors will be able to explore the ‘Below stairs’ areas and learn about the servants at Tredegar House with tours to the ground floor rooms until 1 March. From 2 March – 27 March ‘Below Stairs’ and ground floor rooms will be open with tours to the upstairs rooms. 28 March – 1 November the house will be fully open.
There will also be a whole host of fun activities for the whole family over the February half-term with crafts, trails and bird box making.
