A new brochure has been published by Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales with benefits for group visits to its seven museums. The brochure, which contains information about all the individual sites and their wonderful collections on the history and culture of Wales, also includes special offers and savings to group visits booked in advance.
Benefits available to pre-booked groups include:

Group visits are further enhanced with free guided tours available at most of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales museums and behind the scenes tours are also available at Big Pit: National Coal Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, National Waterfront Museum and the National Slate Museum.
Major exciting developments have taken place at National Museum Cardiff this year. In addition to the much loved historic, modern and impressionist art collections, Wales’s new National Museum of Art, housed at National Museum Cardiff, includes six brand new galleries focussing on contemporary art – the biggest space of its kind in Wales. The popular natural history galleries have also reopened, brining tha animals, bird and insects back on display after a period of refurbishment.
Also included in this brochure are details of the National Collections Centre, located just 8 miles from Cardiff, which offers exclusive access to groups where museum objects not on display are kept in storage.
Christmas is only around the corner and there is a host of exciting Christmas events at Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales sites that would make an ideal seasonal experience.
A special festive fun day take place at the National Slate Museum on 28 November, 11am-3pm with festive fun for everyone from storytelling, face painting, puppet shows and lots of seasonal cheer.
At the National Wool Museum there will be a special Cookery Evening with chef Gareth Richards on 2 December at 7pm. Gareth will be providing a cookery demonstration full of festive ideas with tasters, as well as showing how to create simple festive floral displays for the home at Christmas. Tickets are £5.
One of the biggest and most popular events of the year at St Fagans: National History Museum – Christmas Nights - takes place on 7, 8 & 9 December from 6pm with carols, bands, children’s entertainment and more. Group booking line (for 20+) will be open from November 1st: 029 2057 3466
