Carmarthenshire Tourism Association has produced a series of ‘Distinctive Carmarthenshire Toolkits’ – digital documents that explore the unique character of Carmarthenshire via its places, people and stories.
The toolkits form an ‘insider’s guide’ to the county. There are seven toolkits available, each covering a different area of the county. All are free to download, and feature 20 pages that explore each patch via the story of its towns and villages. History, heritage, myths and legends, visitor attractions and hidden gems are all covered.
Just a small taster of what to expect in the Amman Valley toolkit is an insight into the historical importance of Brynaman; the story of how Heol Wallasey in Ammanford got its name; information on Capel Hen Bethel in Garnant and details of the Bronze Age burial sites found on the Black Mountain.
So whether you use these toolkits to learn about an area of the county that you’re less familiar with, or to remind yourself of those little known facts about somewhere you’ve always loved, the message from the Carmarthenshire Tourist Association team is ‘keep the stories flowing’
