New Dates for Really Wild Festival 2011

New Dates for Really Wild Festival 2011

Really Wild

After 6 years of always holding the Really Wild Food & Countryside Festival in St Davids, Pembrokeshire on the weekend following the August Bank Holiday, the organising committee has taken a strategic decision to move the event in future into the summer period.

Commenting on this fundamental change, the lead organiser, Julia Horton-Powdrill, said ‘Our permanent festival site is large enough to cope with a greater footfall of visitors and the accompanying parking.

Following a lengthy committee discussion and consultation with our exhibitors, we have decided to hold the festival in future in the school holidays and in 2011 it will be on Friday 29th & Saturday 30th July. We also intend organising some entertainment on the Saturday evening following the festival or perhaps on the following day Sunday. The earlier date will also allow us to plan a smaller ‘Really Wild Christmas’ event in December next year.

Commenting on the decision, Julia said that it had not been easy one and undoubtedly not everyone will agree with the change but a greater footfall was important for the sustainability and viability of the event and will allow us to introduce many more children to local food and countryside activities.
