Llandudno's Imperial Hotel Awarded Esteemed Hotel of the Year Wales

The Four Star Imperial Hotel in Llandudno was awarded the prestigious AA Hotel of the Year Wales 2010-11 at a glittering Awards ceremony last night, Monday 27 September 2010, at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

The AA Awards are the most prestigious national awards, with the Hotel of

the Year Award being the AA’s ultimate accolade for hotels in the UK. Presented annually it is in recognition of a hotel that has a proven track

record of striving to ensure the very best levels of service, food and accommodation.

Geoff Lofthouse, general manager of The Imperial Hotel, took to the stage

to collect the Award from the ceremony host, television presenter and broadcaster Penny Smith, in front of an audience of 800 members of the hospitality industry and said; “It is a huge honour to receive this Award.

The Imperial Hotel prides itself on its reputation for outstanding service and this Award recognises and rewards the hotel’s outstanding quality, exceptional comfort and hospitality as the best in the serviced accommodation sector in Wales.”

The Imperial Hotel is Llandudno’s largest quality and sustainable Four Star hotel, centrally situated on the Promenade with stunning panoramic views across the bay.

Built in 1865, The Imperial has an impressive Victorian facade and stylish decor but behind this lies a contemporary hotel which has an outstanding reputation for food and service.

The hotel has 98 en-suite bedrooms including four suites with lounges and

four family suites and a health and fitness centre offering a swimming pool,

two gyms, spa bath, steam room and sauna.

Guests and non-residents can choose from the AA Rosette awarded

Chantrey’s Restaurant for fine dining or The Terrace for lunches and light refreshments all day. The Imperial uses only local, seasonal and market fresh produce and takes pride in using Fairtrade Coffee, free range eggs, chickens and turkey and where possible Organic produce, while the pork is farm assured.

The hotel also has facilities for private dining, from small intimate family occasions through to large corporate events. It has eight conference and banqueting suites, catering for up to 150 guests or wedding functions up to 120 guests and has three suites licensed for Civil Ceremonies.

Geoff Lofthouse concluded, “Since the Millennium we have seen significant investment in the hotel and staff training and for this to be recognised with such a prestigious Award is an achievement for the Hotel and an acknowledgement of everyone’s hard work.”
