Loving Welsh Food is being launched at Arboreal Restaurant in Cowbridge on Tuesday 19th May 2015 ahead of the 2015 Cowbridge Food & Drink Festival. Loving Welsh Food offers Welsh food & drink tours, safaris, welsh cooking workshops, food talks and demonstrations
“I think Arboreal is an ideal venue for the launch. I love the restaurant, it’s relaxed, very friendly, and the focus is on fresh, seasonal and honest food “ says Director of LWF, Sian B Roberts. “We both enjoy food, drink and making people smile”.
Guests will be invited to find out about the company’s future plans and to enjoy tasters of the fantastic Welsh food and drink produced in the Vale of Glamorgan.
The launch will include a cooking demo by Arboreal’s Chef using the wood burner, tasting of Meadow View local wine while also showcasing produce from Hendrewennol Fruit Farm, Slade Farm Organics, Gwynt y Ddraig Cider, Mrs O’s Pop up Tea Rooms, Welsh Coffee and more.
To celebrate the company’s launch, Loving Welsh Food will be running 2 half day Tours during this year’s Cowbridge Food & Drink Festival: “Welshcakes & Wine” on Sunday May 24th 2015 and “Afternoon Tea and Bubbly “ on Bank Holiday Monday 25th 2015. (more details below)
Sian received funding from Creative Rural Communities to develop the Welsh Foodand Drink Tours and Welsh Food Safaris.
The Bear Hotel, one of the Town & Country hotels in Cowridge, is offering a special break during the festival. The break includes an overnight stay, full Welsh breakfast and one of Loving Welsh Food’s tours for 2 people.

Tour Itineraries to be included in Cowbridge Food & Drink Festival
Welshcakes and Wine - Sunday May 24th

The “Welshcakes and Wine “ tour starts in the lovely market town of Cowbridge and takes you into the heart of the surrounding countryside to visit Hendrewennol Fruit Farm. Welsh coffee and tea are served before a tour of the farm, followed by a fabulous selection of tastings of biscotti, ice cream, chocolate and fruit vinegars!
We then travel to the Meadow View Vineyard where Michael Lewis, the owner, takes us on a tour of the vineyard and invites you to a blind tasting of Welsh v French sparkling wines. You decide which you prefer! Iechyd Da! The tour ends in Cowbridge, where you return to the festival or your transport.
Afternoon Tea & Bubbly - Bank Holiday Monday May 25th

The Bank Holiday Monday “ Vale Afternoon Tear” tour starts in Cowbridge before taking you to the beautiful farm of Llwyn Nwydig, just outside Ystradowen. At the farm, Welsh coffee and tea are served with a selection of cakes provided by Mrs O’s Pop-up Tea Room. You’ll then have the chance to enjoy a tour of the 78 acres of woodland and the stunning views.
The tour continues to Meadow View Vineyard where Michael Lewis, the owner, takes us on a tour of the vineyard, and talks about the history of Welsh wine while you enjoy a glass of “Gwin y Fro” sparkling wine.
The tour ends in Cowbridge, where you can return to the festival or your transport.
