Judges at Essential Travel online magazine who ranked the attraction as the third best in Britain which cost under £10, also placed the Ghost Walks ahead of Stirling Castle, the Tate Modern and London’s National Gallery.
Essential Travel commented on the walks: “For only £4 you will get a hair-raising tour of Llandaff that will keep you on the lookout for spooks from start to finish. Your guide is well-versed in long forgotten tales from the city's past. Tying actual events and real people with the sites in front of you, he walks you through Llandaff's darkest secrets, weaving a spooky web around your imagination.
“The Ghost Walk is ultimately a fun, informative and very scary trip through the nooks and crannies of this old city that dwells within the heart of Cardiff. While the tour might be a bit too much for kids younger than 10, teenagers and adults will have a ball getting scared out of their wits. Highly recommended for group tours!”
Jim Cowan, tour guide at Cardiff History and Hauntings, told the South Wales Echo: “On several occasions during the walks, participants have seen, heard and felt things they cannot explain.
“These include being pushed or poked at one spot, feelings of intense coldness in other spots, sounds of footsteps approaching the group, and shadowy figures resembling children seen in the old graveyard."
The winter season of ghost walks are coming to an end but a series of twilight walks will return around Easter. For more information visit www.cardiffhistory.co.uk or call 07538 878609.
