Festivals are an excellent way to get walking – and walking festivals are the perfect way to explore the Wales Coast Path.
Whether you are a beginner, a seasoned pro or anywhere in-between, you have the chance to venture out with other walkers and explore some of the best of the country’s landscapes. Along the way, you might discover something new about Wales’ heritage or wildlife and even make new friends. (Not to mention the benefits of walking to your health!)
Coastal walking festivals coming up later this year include the Barmouth Walking Festival and the Cardigan Walks Festival in September, followed by the Monmouthshire Walking Festival in October.
Minister for Culture and Sport, John Griffiths, said: “I am very pleased to see that our Wales Coast Path is the focus for so many walking festivals. These festivals are an ideal opportunity to enjoy healthy exercise and at the same time explore our stunning coastline and countryside.
“With walking festivals being held throughout the summer in north, mid and south Wales there will be a chance for all of us to get out there and enjoy all that is great about our Coast Path”.
