Cycling holiday specialists Wheely Wonderful Cycling have come up with a great autumn break in stunning Mid Wales countryside for cyclists who like to challenge themselves.
The Radnor Ring Cycling Challenge, a short break of four days with three nights bed and breakfast accommodation for £335 per person, is based on “The Radnor Ring”, a new signed Sustrans route (825) across the Radnorshire hills to the Wye Valley.
There are lots of hills and a high mileage of 46 miles on one day, hence why its called a challenge. This 114-mile cycle route is easy to follow through the Welsh hills, as it’s signposted all the way. It also follows part of the Route 8 Lon Las Cymru from Rhayader down to Newbridge-on-Wye.
The route takes cyclists through wild, open countryside and moorland and Red Kite country.
Highlights are cycling over Offa's Dyke and visiting the Elan Valley lakes and, of course, the amazing spectacle of red kite feeding at Gigrin Farm, Rhayader. Cyclists stay at Knighton, Rhayader, and Presteigne.
Quality bikes and equipment, special route guides and maps, a comprehensive holiday information pack, a full emergency back up service are provided together with afe parking at Petchfield Farm, Elton, near Ludlow.
