The hard work of National Trust tenant farmers has been rewarded at the 10th annual Fine Farm Produce Awards.
The awards are one of the top food and farming honours and celebrate the very best produce from the 1,500 National Trust tenant farms and estates across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Amongst the category winners was Dinefwr Park, a popular tourist attraction in Llandeilo. The parkland National Nature Reserve was recognised for the Dinefwr Honey produced on the estate and for their Fallow Venison Rolled Haunch and Venison & Black Pepper Burger.
Another Welsh winner was Peter and Gina Smithies at Trehill Farm in Pembrokeshire who won the special producer of the decade award for their potatoes.
Cwmcerrig Farm also won for their Venison, Venison Steak, Red Wine and Onion Sausage, and Venison, Red Wine and Onion burger products stocked on the butcher's counter made from their own recipe using Dinefwr venison.
Products not only had to excel in the obligatory taste test, but entrants to the awards also had to pass a checklist of environmental standards to guarantee the quality and origin of ingredients alongside high standards of production.
