Cardiff Adventure Film Festival

Cardiff Adventure Film Festival (CAFF) is a new festival in Cardiff.
It is designed to bring the best of the outdoor adventure world into one location for an amazing weekend.


CAFF is organised and run by MSL Events. Having been involved in the outdoor industry for a long time and seen the best film festivals and the worst they wanted to create one in Cardiff that was on a par to the best ones.


Mark Lewis the event organiser said “We’re bringing in what we consider to be the top Adventurers in the UK and gonna spend a great weekend with them. These guys are the top of their field”
The Adventures are Dave Macleod, Tim Emmett and Kenton Cool. The event is headlined by Richard Parks.


The weekend will start on the Friday evening with Kenton Cool opening the evening with him introducing a film and recounting some of his adventures as the only westerner to have stood on the summit of Everest 9 times. Then Richard Parks will take the stage and talk about his adventures as the only person to have completed the seven summits mountain challenge and stood at both poles within 7 months, and recounting his latest adventures in his humorous style.


On the Saturday the first Young European Film Forum (YEFF) Cardiff awards will be presented. This consists of a question and answer forum in the morning, International shorts in the afternoon followed by awards in the early evening. Following the YEFF Cardiff awards Dave MacLeod will be introducing his latest adventure film followed by the story of the hardest multi-pitch rock climbing route in the UK, The Longhope route and some of Dave's other best adventures with plenty of great pictures, video and stories.


On the Sunday there will be locally made film shorts in the morning. In the afternoon Mr Niall McLeod - Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon from John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford who will be giving a seminar on Adventure trauma.


The afternoon will be completed with a series of adventure films from “Telluride Mountain Film On Tour” films.


The day will be rounded off with an awards ceremony for the film shorts voted by the audience.


In the evening extreme athlete Tim Emmett will introduce his latest adventure film and finish off the evening and festival with an interactive presentation on his latest exploits.
